Changing Your Password While Logged In

  1. Open the user menu at the bottom of the left sidebar (the tile that shows your name).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Change Password section.
  4. Fill in three fields:
    • Current Password. Required so we know it is you.
    • New Password. Minimum 8 characters. No additional character class rules are enforced; pick something hard to guess.
    • Confirm New Password. Must match.
  5. Click Change Password.

The update applies immediately. You stay logged in on your current session, so you do not need to sign in again right away. A confirmation email lands at your registered address noting the change.

If the new password does not meet the minimum length, the form tells you. If the current password is wrong, the form tells you. No silent failures.

Password Requirements

The only requirement is at least 8 characters. Anything you can type works inside that constraint.

A few practices that go beyond the requirement:

  • Use a long passphrase (three or four random words) rather than a short complex string. Longer is harder to crack than fancy.
  • Do not reuse a password from another service. If that service ever leaks, your RealityMold account would be exposed.
  • Use a password manager. The browser one is fine. 1Password, Bitwarden, and the like are also fine.

Resetting Your Password If You Cannot Log In

If you have forgotten your password:

  1. Go to the Log In page.
  2. Click the Forgot password link below the form.
  3. Enter the email address on your account.
  4. Check your inbox for the Password reset email.
  5. Click the link. It opens a page where you set a new password.
  6. The link expires after a short window. If it expires before you use it, request a new one.

If the password reset email does not arrive, check your spam folder. If still nothing, the email address may not be the one on file. Try the other addresses you might have used.
