Uploading Product Images and Links

Client and Product Management3 min read

For a quick overview of the image and link fields, see Adding Your First Product. This article covers best practices in more detail to help you get the most out of these fields.

Uploading a Product Image

To upload an image for your product:

  1. Open the product form (either when creating a new product or editing an existing one).

  2. Click the image upload area.

  3. Select a file from your device. The image uploads automatically after selection.

Supported formats are JPG and PNG. The image should be at least 800x800 pixels for clarity. You can upload one image per product.

How Product Images Are Used

Our creative team uses your product image as a visual reference during production. It helps them understand the product's appearance, packaging, color, and scale.

The image itself does not automatically appear in the final video. The team may choose to include product shots if it fits the creative approach, but the primary purpose of your upload is to give them an accurate reference.

A strong product image reduces back and forth and helps the team get it right on the first attempt.

Tips for Product Images

Use a clear, well lit photo. The product should be the focal point. Avoid dark, blurry, or cluttered images that make it hard to see the product clearly.

Prefer a white or neutral background. This gives the clearest view of the product's design, color, and shape. Lifestyle images are also acceptable, but clean reference shots work best.

Show the product from its best angle. Choose the perspective that most accurately represents the product as customers would see it. For physical products, this is usually a front facing or three quarter angle shot.

Avoid heavily edited or filtered images. The team needs to see what the product actually looks like. Over processed images can lead to inaccurate representation in the video.

Choose quality over quantity. You can upload one image per product. Pick the single photo that best represents the item. One clear shot is far more useful than a collage or a low resolution composite.

Adding a Product Link

Paste the URL of your product listing page into the product link field. This can be a page on your own website, Amazon, Shopify, or any other online store where the product is listed.

The link gives our creative team additional context beyond what you provide in the description and image. They can see pricing, customer reviews, full product specs, and the overall brand presentation.

The link is not shown in the video or shared publicly. It is used solely as a reference during production.

If your product is not yet listed online, leave the field empty. You can always add the link later by editing the product.

Best Practices

Provide both an image and a link when possible. The combination of a visual reference and a full product listing gives the team the most complete picture of your product.

Keep links current. If your product URL changes or the listing is taken down, update the link in your product details. A broken link means the team loses a source of context.

If your product is not publicly listed, compensate by uploading a particularly detailed product image and writing a thorough description. The more information you provide through other fields, the less the team needs to rely on an external link.

The product image, link, description, and actor direction work together as a complete creative brief. Stronger inputs across all fields lead to consistently better video results.
